Board Meeting held on Feb 4th progress was reported
on the Continental Clock to be erected by Brittans Hardware next
year to dedicate 100 years of Rotary Joe Stimola Sr Scholarship – it
was decided to name one of our scholarships in honor of Joe Stimola
Sr. for his dedication and excellence Ed Minicozzi read a letter
from Oak Neck Athletic Club asking for a donation. Members are building
a new club entirely with donations and by themselves on a property
donated to them by the Town of Oyster Bay on Centre Island. They
run programs in wrestling, football, track & field and cheerleading
competitions. Of the 500 children registered 90 are from Locust Valley.
No decision was made to donate but it is under consideration for
next year’s budget Paul Harris – more discussion, a decision
inching towards policy to try and please everyone will be made on
Feb 19th. We shall have a guest speaker who will talk about
Paul Harris. Artie Stein intimated a Dinner Dance for the Gift of
Life run by Robert Donna, who gave us an interesting program two
weeks ago, at Marriel Marquis April 3rd 7pm – 12pm. Tickets
priced at $225 per person. It promises to be a great evening. Please
